Seventy-two people have been confirmed dead after a fire ripped through a footwear factory in the Philippine capital, the city mayor told AFP on Thursday.
Valenzuela mayor Rex Gatchalian said via text message that the death toll from Wednesday's disaster had reached 72. His spokesman said it remained unclear if there were others still missing.
