Prince Charles became the first British royal to meet with Northern Irish republican leader Gerry Adams on an historic visit Tuesday aimed at promoting peace and reconciliation.
At an event in Galway in western Ireland, the heir to the British throne shook hands with the head of the Sinn Fein party, the former political wing of the Irish Republican Army (IRA).
