Daesh group fighters entered the northeastern Syrian city of Hasakeh overnight, seizing two neighbourhoods from government forces in heavy clashes, a monitoring group said on Thursday.
Dozens of regime loyalists and Daesh jihadists were killed in the fighting for the city, swathes of which are held by Kurdish militia, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
