At least 43 Iranians were among the several hundred pilgrims killed in a stampede Thursday at the annual hajj in Saudi Arabia, an official in Tehran said.
The names of the dead were read out in a live broadcast on state television by a spokesman for Iran's hajj organisation, Mehdi Shahsavari.
