Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro urged US President Barack Obama on Saturday to lift sanctions that call his country a national security threat and offered to meet the US leader to ease tensions.
"I am willing to talk with President Obama about this issue with respect and sincerity whenever he wants," Maduro told the Summit of the Americas, though Obama had already left the room.
