US President Barack Obama will make a statement Tuesday about Guantanamo prison, the White House announced.
The statement is to be delivered at 1530 GMT.
Obama has been trying to close the detention centre in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba since taking office in 2009, arguing that it acts as a recruitment tool for jihadists and feeds into an anti-US narrative.
