Iraqi protesters were to withdraw Sunday from Baghdad's Green Zone after breaking into the fortified area and storming parliament the day before, a statement from organisers said.
"The protest organising committee announces the withdrawal of the demonstrators from the Green Zone," the statement said.
It was distributed by Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's office, whose supporters make up the vast majority of the demonstrators.
