Several protesters in Burundi were shot and wounded Monday in violent clashes with police during demonstrations against a bid by President Pierre Nkurunziza to extend his rule, witnesses said.
Police shot at the demonstrators in a bid to disperse them, with witnesses reporting several injured in the capital Bujumbura. An AFP journalist saw three people with bullet wounds.
