Police called a fatal shooting that killed at least nine people in a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina Wednesday a "hate crime".
"I do believe it was a hate crime," Charleston Police Chief Gregory Mullen told a news conference. A white male suspect in his early 20s remained at large after the shooting.
