Acting managing director of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) Amir Saeed Najafi told the oil ministry's website that the 32-inch diameter gas pipeline is experiencing final tests including injection of nitrogen gas.
He said upon completion the Siri-Assalouyeh gas pipeline will convey 500 million cubic feet of sour gas per day from Salman gas field in the Persian Gulf to South Pars gas field onshore facilities in Assalouyeh for sweetening.
He further said the company was responsible for some offshore operations of the South Pars gas field phases, including construction of two gas pipelines, two jackets and two decks in phases 19, 20 and 21 of the South Pars gas field plus drilling 22 wells in phase 14.
He stated that the company completed erecting the jacket of the South Pars gas field phase 21 last year and accomplished installation of phase 19 jacket recently.
"Installing jackets of phases 14, 19 and 20 of South Pars gas field and Reshadat oilfield will be completed in coming months," the official said, adding the company will be installing 48 jackets with 45 thousand tons of weight to the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2013).
