The move comes in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, This came during an Iftar banquet hosted by SMC in honour of senior officials and heads of media and communication departments at Sharjah government and representatives of the media across the UAE.
The Chairman of SMC also announced that GCU had launched several reference guides for the benefit of all government institutions in Sharjah.
The Iftar banquet saw the distribution of the first two reference guides, namely "Crisis Communications Process" and "Government Communications Guidelines & Processes", which will be followed by more guides to cover all categories related to the work mechanism of communication departments.
Sheikh Sultan said, "Out of our keenness to maintain excellent performance and equip government communication departments in Sharjah with enduring reference materials, we present you today with a number of government communication guides that provide all the necessary information for workers in the field and answer a lot of questions related to emergencies and crises to reduce their negative effects." It also explains the relationship between the GCU and government communication departments in the emirate to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding about the main role of the Unit.
