President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with members of the Specialized Council for Economic Development on Sunday.
The meeting took up the final steps for providing the infrastructure for the 1,000-factory project in New Cairo, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
President Sisi said the current phase requires the promotion of the private sector's role along with the state's, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said the meeting also addressed several problems facing citizens, including garbage.
Sisi ordered that proposals be made to overcome this problem and to recycle the garbage to benefit from it in industrial fields.
