Forty seven ships transited the Suez Canal on Thursday, with a total cargo of 2.5 million tons.
The south-bound convoy included 20 vessels carrying 146,000 tons, while the north-bound convoy included 27 ships carrying 1.5 million tons, according to a statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority.
