French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Monday agreed to strengthen
trade cooperation especially in the areas of transportation, renewable energy and biotechnology.
'We are looking forward to receiving more French companies in Malaysia,' Najib said after meeting with Ayrault in Kuala Lumpur.
Ayrault's visit to Malaysia was the first by a French leader in more than 30 years. The last prime minister to visit was Pierre Mauroy in December 1982, according to a report of DPA.
