German exports rebounded in February despite a firmer euro and a slowdown in China as well as other major emerging economies, data released on Friday showed.
Exports from Europe's biggest economy climbed 1.3 per cent in February bringing to an end two consecutive monthly falls and posting their biggest gain since September, German News Agency (dpa) quoted the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) as saying.
Analysts had forecast a 0.5-per-cent gain in February after they slumped 0.6 per cent in January.
Imports also came in higher than forecast, rising by a modest 0.4 per cent in February after growing by 1.3 per cent in January, Destatis said. Analysts had expected a 0.3-per-cent decline in February.
The trade balance widened to 20.3 billion euros (23.08 billion dollars) from 13.4 billion euros in January.
