 Iran's Ambassador to Slovenia Morteza Darzi Ramandi and Slovenia's Deputy Prime Minister Dejan Zidan in a meeting in Ljubljana on Wednesday underlined the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation in agricultural and industrial areas.
During the meeting in the Slovenian capital today, Darzi Ramandi and Zidan explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating ties in different areas, specially trade, industrial and agricultural fields.
The Iranian ambassador pointed to Iran's capacities and capabilities in economic and industrial areas, and said, "Iran is ready to expand cooperation and share experience and technical knowhow with the European country in different areas of agricultural production, herbal medicine, foodstuff, forestry and cattle-breeding."
Zidan, also Slovenia's agriculture minister, for his part, pointed to the Iran-Slovenia growing relations, specially in economic fields, and underlined the need for further cooperation between the two states in the fields of agricultural, foodstuff and dairy production.
The Slovenian agriculture minister also said that his country is ready to cooperate with Iran in forestry.
In September, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor in a meeting in New York discussed ways to further broaden bilateral ties as well as the latest regional and international developments.
During the meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting, Rouhani said there is great capacity for cooperation and development of ties between Iran and Slovenia in all fields, and added that relations with Europe are important for Iran.
He expressed the hope that Slovenia, as a member of the European Union would help a common understanding and development of cooperation between Iran and the EU.
Pahor, for his part, called the meeting as a strong sign of intention of both countries for strengthening political, economic and cultural ties, adding there is no obstacle for expansion of relations between the two countries and there are plenty of opportunities for deepening mutual relations.
He added that there are huge opportunities to create a big development in relations, in case of lifting of imposed sanctions.
Iran and Slovenia have expanded bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in different fields in recent years.
