US consumer confidence rose for the fourth month in a row, a monthly survey showed Tuesday.
The New York-based Conference Board’s consumer confidence index for August rose to 92.4 in August, up from a revised 90.3 in July, dpa reported.
Economist Lynn Franco said the increase came “as improving business conditions and robust job growth helped boost consumers’ spirits.”
She noted however that concerns about earnings weighed on consumers’ views of the short-term outlook, despite overall positive views about the economy and labour market.
