Despite the ongoing economic challenges in some countries of the region and the effect of the fluctuating oil prices on the global and regional economy, Air Arabia achieved remarkable performance in the first 6 months of this year, Adel Ali, CEO, said.
The carrier was able to continue growth and expand with its programme by entering new markets, improving operating efficiency and managing costs.
Air Arabia achieved two great accomplishments in 2015 in terms of its strategy of expanding the networks of its destinations and operation centres. The first achievement is embodied in opening the carrier's 5th main centre in Jordan and launching Air Arabia Jordan, while the second achievement is embodied in entering the Chinese market to be the first low cost airline in the Middle East and North Africa to make this great stride.
The year 2015 is a vital year in the process of growth of the carrier with the launch of more than 17 new destinations from the beginning of this year up till now. This brings to 114 the number of the carrier's destinations from its 5 operations centres in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt and Jordan.
The company's turnover for the first six months of 2015 reached Dhs1.75 billion, in line with the corresponding period of 2014. Turnover for the three months ending June 30, 2015, stood at Dh 860 million, 6 per cent less than the same period of 2014.
