Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, DFWAC, has signed a cooperation agreement with Salamlek Group, whereby it will get 20 percent of the group’s sales every Friday during October, in addition to it bearing the cost of printing a number of publications for the Foundation.
The agreement was signed by Shaikha Al Mansouri, Assistant Director-General for Corporate Support at DFWAC, and Ahmed Al Meheri, owner of Salamlek Group in Dubai, at DFWAC headquarters.
Shaikha Al Mansouri expressed her thanks and appreciation for the initiative undertaken by Salamlek Group to support the efforts of DFWAC in protecting and taking care of women and children in U.A.E. society, as well as contributing to the provision of shelter and care for victims of violence for these two categories.
She added, "This initiative reflects the extent of interest of the Salamlek Group to play an active role in the community as a part of their CSR programme, and we look forward for more of these partners from the private sector to serve the community and its members." She also pointed out that the volume of awareness on the issues of violence against women and children is witnessing a clear increase in society, which is clearly reflected in the increase of the number of DFWAC clients, especially through the helpline 800 111, either for assistance or inquiries, and this increase requires more cooperation and support from various bodies.
Ahmed Al Meheri thanked DFWAC for its efforts in the field of care and protection of women and children, as well as for the opportunity for Salamlek to contribute to supporting the efforts of DFWAC in this area to serve U.A.E. society.
He added that the issues of violence against women and children is one of the most important phenomena that must be faced, because its impact extends to future generations, and that shows the important role of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, which is not only saving the future of many of the victims, but also protecting the community through their ongoing awareness campaigns.
He explained that the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children provides services to all members of society without discrimination of race, religion or nationality, and the Salamlek Group is looking forward to the agreement being a beginning of further areas of cooperation between the two sides to serve women and children in U.A.E. society.
