The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday closed slightly up.
Although the index only gained 0.07 percent and closed at 9666.34 points, it is the first time that it has closed up this week.
The DAX index, which on Monday stood at around 10000 points, lost more than 300 points during the week under selling pressure.
Weak economic data from Europe and Asia, concerns of tension in the Middle East, worries about upcoming disappointing news and other factors were believed to have contributed to the slide of DAX for the past few days, analysts said.
The tire producer Continental AG led the list of risers, up by 1.89 percent. The semiconductor solutions companies, Infineon Technologies AG, the car producer BMW AG St, the Munich-based reinsurance company Muenchener Rueck AG, the car maker Volkswagen AG Vz also managed to gain by 1.05 percent, 0.71 percent, 0.69 percent and 0.52 percent respectively.
HeidelbergCement AG suffered the greatest loss of 2.7 percent, followed by Deutsche Lufthansa AG, the chemical producer LANXESS AG, Daimler AG and adidas AG, down by 1.84 percent, 0.66 percent, 0.55 percent and 0.39 percent.
The turnover stood at 2.45 billion euros (around 3.34 billion U.S. dollars).
