The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday declined by more than 0.9 percent.
The blue-chip index lost 0.91 percent and closed at 9,291.83 points. According to the German business daily Handelsblatt, investors at the exchange were not satisfied with the job data from the United States, which brought the DAX index down.
About 214,000 new jobs were created in the United States in October and the unemployment in the U.S. dropped to a six-year low. However, the data did not meet some economists' expectations, according to Handelsblatt.
Allianz SE topped the list of risers, up by 3.59 percent. The sport utilities company adidas AG and ThyssenKrupp AG each rose by 0.83 percent and 0.55 percent.
The chemical company LANXESS AG continued to lead the fallers' list, down by 3.49 percent. The semiconductor producer Infineon Technologies AG lost 2.34 percent. Bayer AG slipped by 2.31 percent. Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. went down by 2.02 percent and the utilities company RWE AG St ended 1.83 percent lower.
The turnover stood at 4.04 billion euros (around 5.04 billion U.S. dollars). Allianz SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 721.9 million euros. (1 euro = 1.25 U.S. dollars)
