In the first half of 2013, 4983 companies and institutions declared bankruptcy in the Netherlands, the Dutch national statistics office, CBS, reported Thursday.
That's 14 percent more than in the same period of 2012, it noted.
The number of bankruptcies of trading, construction and wholesale companies remains high, said CBS.
Even one-person companies of painter, plumbers, and project developers, the number of bankruptcies rose sharply.
Compared to the first half of 2012 the number of bankruptcies rose in all provinces of the country.
