Financial Minister aide for Sukuk file has denied that al-Azhar had rejected the Sukuk (Islamic bonds) bill.
"Media reports on Sukuk rejection are completely inaccurate", Dr. Ahmed el-Naggar told MENA on Tuesday.
Al-Azhar has not issued any official statement on the matter. However, some senior scholars asserted that Sukuk bill is fully applying Sharia, according to al-Naggar.
He underlined that al-Azhar reservations were related to lawful and financial aspects that have nothing to do with Sharia assets.
