President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, said on Thursday that the approval of the lengthily awaited salary scale and administrative appointments, away from political bickering, would be the best gift to offer Lebanese mothers on the occasion of Mother's Day.
"Approve the budget without further delay," Sleiman said as urging cabinet members at the beginning of today's session, at Baabda Presidential Palace.
Besides, the President heaped praise on the balanced stances and pacifying rhetoric by various Lebanese officials in the wake of last week's aggression against two Sunni Sheiks.
"These stances spared Lebanon a huge conflict," he said, stressing that the matter is now in the hands of justice.
In addition, the President briefed the Ministers on the outcome of his Africa tour. He underscored the significance of this visit which came out with a decision to reopen the Embassies of Senegal and Ivory Coast in Lebanon before the end of 2013.
