Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Abul said Monday the government was serious in addressing the housing problem as soon as possible.
The government has already started distributing housing units in Sabah Al-Ahmad City, Abul told reporters following the inauguration of Kuwaiti and International Real Estate Exhibition.
He said the government was adopting some measures to speed up distribution of housing units in other residential cities.
The government, said Abul, was ready to cooperate with the parliament to address this "very important issue." He said the private sector was playing a major role to the development of housing and real estate sectors.
Board Chairman of the ExpoCity, the organizer of the exhibition, Ahmad Al-Saffar said the exhibition included more than 40 local and regional real estate companies.
He said there were financing companies taking part in the exhibition, ready to offer real estate services and facilities.
