The EU has added three Russian oil firms and 24 new persons to its list of sanctions due to the crisis in Ukraine.
The names of the firms and persons were published in the EU Official Journal Friday.
The blacklisted oil firms are Rosneft, Transneft, and Gazprom Neft. Three defence companies were also added to the new list Oboronprom, United Aircraft Corporation, and Uralvagonzavod.
Debt financing to the three Russian defence companies and three major energy companies has been prohibited.
Nine defence and technology firms were added to the list including the famous small-arms maker Kalashnikov.
An EU statement said services necessary for deep water oil exploration and production, arctic oil exploration or production and shale oil projects in Russia may no more be supplied.
The ban on exporting dual use goods and technology for military use in Russia has been extended to also include a list of nine mixed defence companies that must not receive dual use goods from the EU.
The EU also imposed an asset freeze and visa ban on 24 people, bringing the total to 119. It includes ten pro-Russia rebel leaders in east and south Ukraine and in Crimea, 12 Russian MPs who supported the attack on Ukraine, and Russian oligarch Sergey Chemezov who is a close associate of Putin.
