The diplomatic efforts are intensifying to reach a truce in Gaza strip while Israel committed Sunday new slaughters in which 87 Palestinians were killed, including 50 in the city of Chajaya and 16 others in a raid against a house in the refugee camp of al-Boureij, raising the death toll to 425 martyrs on the 13th day of the Israeli aggressions.
With the hope to reaching a “lasting ceasefire” in the Palestinian enclave, the secretary general of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon will head, Sunday, for Doha as part of his tour to the Middle East which will lead him also to Kuwait, Cairo, occupied al-Quds, the West Bank and Amman.
Ban will act in consultation with the regional and international players to put an end to the violence and find a solution to the explosive situation in Gaza, according to the United Nations.
In Qatar, a meeting will be held Sunday, in Doha, between Ban Ki-moon and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to conclude a ceasefire agreement which will put an end to the 13 days of Israeli barbaric aggressions, according to a Qatari source.
In Qatar, President Abbas will meet with the exiled Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, according to an official close to Abbas.
“The president will discuss with Meshaal ways to reach a truce in Gaza strip,” said the source.
