Baghdad - Arab Today

The Iraqi air force raided on Sunday two headquarters for the Daesh organization in Al Qaem area west of Anbar province on the borders with Syria, killing 25 elements of the terrorist group.

A military statement said Iraqi warplanes carried out precise attacks in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, pointing out that two headquarters of the group were fully destroyed.

According to the BBC, Iraqi forces have entered a former government compound in Ramadi, from where Daesh group militants have been resisting an army offensive.

A source said troops had entered one building and were planning to push cautiously through the rest of the huge compound amid fears of explosives.

Daesh militants are believed to have fled to the north-east of the city. The government has been trying to retake Ramadi for weeks.
