Authorities seized 1,120 artifacts dating back to Pharaonic, Greek and Roman eras in a container before being smuggled from Demietta Port to Thailand.
This comes as part of the Antiquities Ministry efforts to eliminate smuggling of artifacts, head of central administration for antiquities outlets Ahmed el Rawi said on Thursday.
He added that Antiquities Minister Mamdouh Damaty has ordered to form an archeological committee to take all required legal measures
