Emirates Writers Union mourned Wednesday the death of Egypt's renowned poet Abdel Rahman el Abnoudi who died on Tuesday at the age of 76 years.
In a statement carried by WAM News Agency, the union said that the Arab poetry lost one of its great figures, adding that el Abnoudi was known for his patriotic and national stances.
The union highlighted also the special relation between the great poet and UAE where he attended cultural events organized by the Arab country.
He will always inspire the new generations, the statement concluded.
