In the Makkah Declaration issued at the end of the conference today, the participants urged the nation's leaders to work on the application of Sharia and comprehensive reform that achieves justice, safeguards human dignity, takes care of rights and duties, meets aspirations of the peoples and guarantees a dignified life.
They also called on the leaders to preserve the unity of Muslims, combat any attempts aiming at tearing the nation at religious, sectarian and ethnical levels, and promote Islamic solidarity in all its forms and manifestations.
The conferees called for using the causes of physical and moral strength, making use of human and natural resources and promoting integration among Islamic countries.
They underlined the necessity of reviewing educational curricula and religious discourse to achieve moderation and settle conflicts in Muslim societies, according to the Holy Quran, the Sunnah of Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the nation's predecessors.
They urged establishing the Islamic Court of Justice, get the nation's citizens with their different religious and sectarian affiliations away from seditions and strife and formulate a comprehensive strategy to dry up the sources of terrorism.
They asked the leaders to promote confidence among the Muslim countries and their leaders, support the nation's general causes, fight corruption, reduce unemployment and poverty and care for the rights of citizenship for all components of society.
They called for supporting Muslim minorities in maintaining their identity, defending their interests and strengthening their capacity to help them fulfill their mission and carry out their duties toward their communities, committing to moderation.
Countering terrorism and religious extremism, they said, could be achieved in collaboration with the Islamic countries, their scholars and institutions.
