Hamburg, Germany
Algiers - APS

An Algerian-German Cultural Center has been launched Saturday in Hamburg (north of Germany), said Monday the Foreign Ministry in a communiqué.
The idea of the Cultural Center stems from a group of Algerians living in Hamburg, who aspire to make of it a “space of meeting between the members of the national community, of the promotion of the Algerian cultural diversity" in Germany’s second largest city.
This center will have varied activities, notably Arabic teaching to the children of the national community, in a school named after Moufdi Zakaria, to whom Algerian ambassador to Germany, Nor-Eddine Aouam, paid a glowing homage.
The ambassador also welcomed this initiative, "which denotes the commitment of the Algerian community living in Germany to its country and its willingness to worthily represent it in Germany."
He said in this regard that Algeria maintained "friendly relations with Germany and multifaceted cooperation that is further developed."
