Director of the Kuwait Society for Formative Arts Abdulrassol Salman said on Wednesday that the Fourth Sheikha Suad Al-Sabah Formative Arts Forum, due on April 15, will differ from former editions.
"Artists (from the Gulf region) will present their work through workshops aimed at displaying a wider platform for methods and techniques according to ideological and human meanings," said Salman at a press conference held to announce the event at the Kuwait Society for Formative Arts HQ.
More established artists have been chosen to administer these workshops, which aim to build on the skills of formative artists and enable them to take a more modern approach.
The forum, held every two years, aims to be a platform that illustrates the society's future aspirations and challenges, added Salman.
In its fourth edition, the event will attract 77 artists and critics, young and old, from around the Gulf.
Formative arts in Kuwait have witnessed major developments, producing artists who have been able to transmit different views on issues that affect the society, life, history and Arab and Islamic civilization, he concluded
