"Hold Back the Sun" relates the adventures and romances of two US Asiatic Fleet Lieutenants during the fall of the Philippines and Dutch East Indies early in the Pacific War. The book is filled with air and naval surface combat, paratroop operations, a trans-Pacific flight in a posh Pan Am flying boat, fast-paced wartime romance, and the scorched earth actions of the Dutch oil officials.
"Hold Back the Sun" covers many aspects of the early Pacific War that have been seldom explored in popular fiction. Anyone who enjoys WWII adventure stories should like "Hold Back the Sun." World War II buffs should especially enjoy the accurate portrayals of the opening action of the Pacific War. Readers of W.E.B Griffin, Jack Higgins, Frederick Forsythe and Clive Cussler are the target audience for this book.
