Minister of Culture Khalida Toumi declared Sunday in Constantine that 50% of facilities planned as part of "Constantine, Capital of Arab Culture 2015" event will be operational "on the day of event kick-off"
During a news conference held on the sidelines of a working and inspection visit to Constantine, the minister said that spaces set to host cultural events and other to accommodate guests will be operational at the launch of the event in April 2015.
Affirming that the main objective of organizing big cultural events is "addressing the shortcomings recorded in terms of facilities," Toumi said that the rest of the facilities planned will be delivered "throughput the 12 months of the event."
The Minister recalled that for "Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture 2011," eleven (11) projects were delivered at the event launch.
Speaking about the cultural segment of the event, Toumi said that the final program of "Constantine, capital of Arab culture 2015" will be formally established on November 30th. She also noted that the various committees "continue to receive proposals" to form the event’s cultural program.
