The Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge was evacuated Monday after a bomb threat was made, campus police said.
Baton Rouge's WAFB-TV reported the entire campus was being vacated. The school has about 29,000 students and about 6,500 faculty and support staff.
LSU officials sent out an alert at 11:32 a.m. local time directing everyone to leave the campus as calmly and quickly as possible. The officials did not disclose any details of the threat, which The LSU Reveille reported was received about 10:30 a.m., WAFB-TV said.
Hoax bomb threats last week emptied the campuses of the University of Texas in Austin and North Dakota State in Fargo.
