Professor of Public Law at the University of Setif, El Kheir Guechi, called for Saturday in Algiers the constitutionalization of the national body of fight against corruption.
"I proposed the creation of consultative bodies on human rights and the fight against corruption," Guechi said in a statement to the press, after a meeting with the Minister of State, Principle Private Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Ouyahia responsible for conducting consultations on the Revision of the Constitution.
Proposals focused also on the constitutionalization of the National Economic and Social Council and a National Council on Environment Protection.
Guechi further pleaded for constitutionalizing the right to a better environment, clean water and a healthy diet as well as the protection of nature and sustainable development.
The Academic freedom, liberty of scientific research and the right to culture have also been proposed to be included in the new Constitution, he said.
The Law expert said he had presented during the meeting with Ouyahia, several other proposals for the revision of the Constitution and on other articles that do not exist in the Constitution.
Academic Guechi said having proposed that that the President of the Republic appoints the Prime Minister from the parliamentary majority.
