Local and overseas educational institutions will be gathering at the Venetian Cotai Expo Hall for the Macau Education Fair, which will be held between September 27 and 29. Jointly organized by the Tertiary Education Services Office of the government of Macau and the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel, the event presents approximately 100 exhibitors from several foreign countries.
Besides universities, colleges and training centers from Macau, Hong Kong and mainland China, several other educational institutions from Taiwan, Japan, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland will also be presenting their curricula to prospective students.
With the theme “The Premier International Education Fair is Your Milestone to Success,” the event provides students, parents and those aiming to further their studies with information on available academic degrees and other training options.
The head of the Tertiary Education Services Office, Helena Lo, emphasized in a statement that “the development of higher education is of great significance to the Macau government (…) we are organizing the fair with the Venetian again this year, aiming at providing comprehensive information on further studies to students and parents from Macau and the Pearl-River Delta region.” She added that the government “hopes this educational fair can help in ideal decision-making when taking up higher education.”
The Vice President of the Convention and Exhibition Operations at the Venetian, Gene Capuano, said they “have been averaging 10,000 visitors every year.” He added that they “support continuing education and we can see the tremendous importance that education has for locals by the numbers of attendees each year.”
During the Macau Education Fair, seminars and workshops will be conducted for those who seek advice from education experts. The Tertiary Education Services Office, for instance, is organizing the “Career Exploration Seminar,” where over ten industry professionals will be invited to address the topic of career prospects in different areas. The opening ceremony will be held on September 27 at 3:30 p.m. The event is free.
