Fawzy has been broadcasting for 20 years
Cairo - Al Sayed Khalaf Allah
Egyptian television presenter Mofid Fawzy has criticised state media since the election of President Mohammed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Fawzy pointed the finger at the country’s Information Minister Salah Abdel-Maksoud in particular.
“He does not appreciate the role done by more experienced hosts,” he said, claiming Abdel-Maksoud had tried to exclude more senior staff from working in Egypt’s state media institutions.
After 20 years broadcasting, Fawzy’s programme was axed.
“Egyptian television will not restore itself to its former position without serious work done by experienced staff,” he added.
Fawzy has announced the signing of a contract with satellite channel Dream ahead a new programme launch.
The new show will analyse political developments in Egypt.
A launch date has not yet been specified.
